Our Commitments
Our Producers
Supply chains are so easily exploited in our industry and it can be a huge challenge for smaller brands to pay for the infrastructural changes we desperately need. However, we recognise our responsibility to both the planet and its people. We NEVER compromise our high ethical and sustainable manufacturing and production standards. It is our top priority to ensure that the workers involved in our bags’ manufacturing process are working in safe, healthy and hygienic conditions and working fair, daytime working hours and are paid more than their local minimum wage. We work closely with our production team in China, ensuring our working condition standards are met and the people we work with are well looked after. Our warehouses are also completely plastic free and carbon neutral.
What do these certifications mean?
SEDEX
SEDEX stands for Supplier Ethical Data Exchange. Their databases allows suppliers to share their ethical data. SEDEX factories must successfully complete an audit in order to meet ethical standards at work. This includes ensuring workers are in a safe and healthy environment, given good breaks and the time to voice any concerns they may have.

All our products are made from 100% recycled plastic and are annually audited to keep up with requirements.

Forest management certification confirms the forest is managed in a way that preserves biological diversity and benefits the lives of local workers. Our Materials
All our bags are made from 100% recycled plastic bottles. They’re strong, practical, beautiful and compact - but what’s actually so special and different, when a reusable bag is made from recycled plastic?
Nowadays we all are aware that plastic waste is polluting the planet, not helped by its slow degrading process. Reusable bags prevent the need for single-use plastic bags, which only are used for 15 minutes on average before thrown away. However, do we really know that reusable bags are actually helping to protect the environment?
Lots of reusable bags require a great number of reuses to justify its environmental impact from production. For example, cotton tote bags need 7,000 to 20,000 reuses to have the same cumulative environmental impact (such as water use) as a classic plastic bag. BUT recycled plastic only needs 2-3 reuses.
So, that’s why we use 100% recycled PET for our beautiful bags! We rescue plastic bottles from being stuck for 1,000 years in the landfill waiting to decompose, or thrown into the ocean and killing aquatic life. Click below to learn more about our decision to use plastic bottles!
Our Packaging
It's not only our bags that are 100% recyclable, but our packaging too! It's fully recyclable and eco-friendly, using paper tapes, recyclable cardboard sleeves, FSC Certified paper and eco-friendly ink.
SUSTAINABILITY
We're Not another
(polluting, weak, or ugly) reusable bag.
Kind Bag is 100% made from recycled plastic bottles.
They’re strong, practical, beautiful and compact - but what’s actually so special and different, when a reusable bag is made from recycled plastic?
Nowadays we all are aware that plastic waste is polluting the planet so badly, especially due to its slow degrading process. Reusable bags prevent the need for single-use plastic bags, which only are used for 15 minutes on average before thrown away. However, do we really know that reusable bags are actually helping to protect the environment?
In fact, lots of them require a great number of reuses to justify its environmental impact from production. For example, cotton tote bags, which is widely used, need 7,000 to 20,000 reuses each to have the same cumulative environmental impact (such as water use) as a classic plastic bag. On the other hand, recycled plastic only needs 2-3 reuses.
So, that’s why we’re going 100% recycled PET for our beautiful bags! We rescue plastic bottles from being stuck for 1,000 years in the landfill waiting to decompose, or thrown into the ocean - to be useful again. We also donate to charities to even go further. Click here to read more.

"Cotton bags need 7000 to 20,000 reuses to justify its environmental impact v.s. just 3 reuses for recycled PET bags"
What impacts does Kind Bag have on the planet?

Every year, 5.5 billion plastic bottles are landfilled, littered, or incinerated - just in the UK.
According to the government report, "The UK uses 13 billion plastic bottles every year. Only 7.5 billion are recycled. The remaining 5.5 billion are landfilled, littered, or incinerated."
You may feel it is a small amount one Kind Bag contributes - but with all of us doing our 'bits', we can be a big help to protecting the planet.
Saving plastic bottles & bags going to landfill & the ocean
More than 5 trillion pieces of plastic are already floating in our oceans. And even if they end up being in the landfill, one plastic bottle takes up to 1,000 years to decompose. You're preventing some of the long-lasting impacts to the earth by using a Kind Bag.
Eliminating the use & need of single use plastic bags
Only 1 in 200 plastic bags in the UK are recycled, and the average life of a plastic bag is only 12-15 mins. About 1 trillion plastic bags are used worldwide every year. With Kind Bag, you're reducing the demand for plastic bags, leading to less energy usage and waste.
Protect wildlife
Over 100,000 marine animal deaths are caused every year because they mistake plastic bags for food. Plastic bags in forest could also cause other small animals trapped in them, leading to even more wildlife deaths.
100% recyclable
At the end of its life, Kind Bag can be fully recycled, keep it away from the biggest problem with plastic waste going to landfill and polluting the environment. If you're in doubt whether your local authority recycles your bag, please send it back to us and our team will ensure it won't go to the landfill or ocean. Our ethical manufacturing process
NO to sweatshop.
While ensuring our bags are as affordable and accessible as possible, we make sure our entire manufacturing process is ethical and sustainable too. A lot of "cheap" reusable bags are made in an unacceptable working environment with resources that pollute the environment.
We maintain a constant communication with our manufacturing partner in China and have a dedicated team to ensure we follow the local and international regulations. Our partner has also conducted a full audit of their working environment by a third party.
All our factory workers receive more than the local minimum wage and are on the permanent payroll, working from 8am to 5pm with an hour lunch break. The factory is maintained clean, well-lit and ventilated, carrying out a regular risk assessment for safe, healthy and hygienic working condition. Furthermore, workers representatives and managers together hold regular meetings to ensure workers' voices are heard and any issues are raised, discussed and solved to constantly improve their working environment.
We understand that using sustainable materials doesn't necessarily mean that the brand itself is also 100% sustainable. We want to ensure the entire supply chain is sustainable and ethical - to the planet as well as to all the people involved.

Our rPET fabric is inspected and assessed in accordance with the Global Recycled Standard.
The ink used to print on our fabric is certified as sustainable and non-harmful ink by OEKO-TEX®.
